An engaging town hall meeting where indigenous youth representatives and policymakers discuss issues related to agriculture, food sovereignty, mining, and the impact of COVID-19 on indigenous peoples.

With guest speakers Cong. Amihilda Sangcopan (AMIN Partylist), Cong. Argel Joseph Cabatbat (MAGSASAKA Partylist), Cong. Alfred Vargas III (5th District, QC), and Ms. Klarise Fortaleza (CHR).

Online Forum on Indigenous Peoples Resisting Destructive Mining

 

Alyansa Tigil Mina presents an online forum for Indigenous People's Month 2020, discussing the indigenous people's fight against destructive mining activities. This event aims to raise awareness about the plights of different IP communities on harmful mining projects, the effects of these projects toward nature and their environment, and their call for justice and accountability from the government and other corporations involved.

#IPGoals In Celebration of People's Day 2020

 

In celebration of Indigenous People's Day 2020, LRC presents #IPGoals, an event where we can hear stories from indigenous leaders from different parts of the Philippines about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in their lives, how they are coping with this situation, as well as their goals and advocacies for their community. The event also features musicians and artists, such as Aia De Leon, Rice Lucido, the Balagtasan group The Makatas, performance artist Alfonso Manalastas, and actor Karl Medina.

2020 State of Indigenous Peoples' Address

 

LRC is proud to host the State of Indigenous Peoples Address or SIPA 2020, a national gathering of indigenous peoples to present the current state of their community to the Filipino masses. Representatives of various IP communities share their plights, issues, aspirations, and struggles to protect and promote their rights as communities and as peoples. This event has been held every year since 2008, and this is the first time it has ever been held online, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
