Workers rights must be protected in a better BBL

With calls mounting for a revision of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), the labor group Partido Manggagawa (PM) also called for amending the draft so that workers rights are better protected. “Along with our support for peace rather than war in Mindanao, we demand that the rights of workers, whether Moro, Christian or indigenous, in the Bangsamoro territory be respected and enhanced, and that these freedoms must be codified in the BBL,” asserted Renato Magtubo, PM national chair.

COTABATO CITY, Philippines -- Members of the Teduray tribe perform a ritual for peace at Pedro Colina Hill in Cotabato City, which lies within their ancestral domain, on Saturday.
The Cotabato City ritual was one of the many done simultaneously in villages and territories of the Téduray and Lambangian in Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat provinces, and the Erumanen ne Menuvu in North Cotabato and Bukidnon, to ask for peace and the passage of an "inclusive" Bangsamoro Basic Law.
